Its not everyday you go to see a great gig at one venue, casually
stroll on over to another venue (a couple of stops on the way of
course) and walk in to see a member of the first band you saw on
stage playing a diferent role, with a different line-up and
sounding equally as good.

Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce you to Mr. John E.Vistic.
Earlier in the evening I had been to see Emily Breeze play a dirty
rock n roll 1950s with attitude set. I assumed the tall skinny guy
looking down and eyes covered with his hat was simply the bassist
who never says very much. An hour or so later I head over to Moles
to check out the lovely Ukraine girls night with The John E.Vistic
Experience headlining.

I had heard good things about them and the psychadelic swirls of
colour around the guitar wielding rocker on tonights poster
intrigued me even more. Anyway needless to say the quiet bassist
was now fronting his own group consiting of drums, bass, guitar
and keys with a sound that restores my faith in proper rock n
roll! John has an image that lies somewhere between Nick Cave and
50s outlaw in leather with a dylanesque and dare I say Tom
Waits-ish voice at times.

The bands music fuses rockabilly, dirty blues and country with a
rawness and energy that sends you and a bottle of Jack kicking and
jiving back to the days when rebels didn’t even need a cause. With
John now on guitar and vocals he put on a stomp, leading from one
dirty lick to another with no rest in between. He had all the
moves and his stage presence had suddenly tripled from his
performance on bass earlier. By the end of the set he had everyone
in the club twisting, moving and shaking as he got to his knees
and shredded the last remaining notes out of a bruised and
battered guitar. Absolutely fantastic!
